Hopes and Dreams Butterflies

We all began the year in Art by making lots and lots of different textured papers. We did sponge painting, texture rubbings, watercolor resist, monoprints, brayer rolling, marbleizing, splatter painting, wood texturing, and more! Then, inspired by the cut paper collage work of Eric Carle, each student designed their own butterfly to “carry” their hopes and dreams for Art this year. All 300 butterflies “took flight” this fall and, as of this writing, most are well on their way to warmer climates…
