Our PTSA has always served our community in its entirety including Success By Six services, Elementary School, Middle School, and High School students and school staff. In most recent years, we have noticed two trends: a decline in fundraising participation and Elementary Families shouldering the majority of the burden for fundraising. Over the years, PTSA Officers have changed, and the organization has achieved great success with providing valuable activities and services to students, families, and school staff. In addition, we have been able to financially support many programs for all three schools.
We are sad to announce that our PTSA is facing having to close our organization. Our struggles to maintain activities without sufficient volunteers has also compromised our ability to have consistent, quality communication. We have made great efforts to increase communication with our newest efforts including an enhanced website and a grant application for laptop computers to aid the officers.
Nevertheless, we have 3 officer vacancies needing to be filled (President, Vice President, and Treasurer). Unless members step forward to fill these vacancies we will not have a PTSA this coming (2010-2011) school year.
Please help our organization continue by stepping forward. Anyone may be an officer. (If you are not a member and would like to serve as an officer, complete a membership form and notify us of your interest.) We are able to be reached through our website (http://ww2.bfafairfax.com/ptsa/) which has membership forms, contact information, and email address information. Our current President, Vice President, and Treasurer will be finished as of June 30th.
Time is running out, it is our sincere hope that the decades of a legacy that has been created will be able to continue. Without a PTSA, our Success By Six Program will not be able to continue, activities like our Elementary Halloween Party will not exist, financial support like our $1,000 Scholarship to a graduating senior will not occur, and the support to our school staff will be compromised.
