Volleyball Overview

Volleyball Outline

 

 

 

 

Overview

This unit is designed to introduce student to the sport of volleyball.  The students will be introduced to the basics of volleyball, forearm bump, overhead set, serving, spiking (8th grade), and scoring, this will introduce students to a physical activity outside of the traditional team sports, that can be enjoyed at many levels.

1)    Student is unable to demonstrate basic hits in a controlled environment. (teacher fed balls)

2)     Student is able to demonstrate basic hits in a controlled environment. (teacher fed balls)

3)    Student is able to use the basic hits in game play

4)    Student is able to use basic hits in game play and keep score.

5)    Student is able to use basic hit in game play, keep score and apply a team strategy.

40% Active daily participation and appropriate attire

20% Written test

40% Demonstration of the above skills
