A “Banner” Spring for BFA Fairfax Athletics' Student-Athletes and Programs

For anyone who enters the Richard A. Brown Memorial Gymnasium at BFA Fairfax, one of the first things that stand out is the number and variety of banners hanging on the walls representing decades worth of various records, sportsmanship awards, and championships. After a highly successful spring in our BFA Fairfax athletic programs, we are proud to announce that we will be adding THREE new banners to the gym walls.

For the second time in three years, the BFA Fairfax Varsity Boys Lacrosse team was awarded the Gerry Gingras state sportsmanship award, which is voted on by officials throughout the state of Vermont, and awarded to one team in each division annually.

For those who may not be familiar, scoring 100 goals in lacrosse is often viewed as the equivalent of scoring 1000 points in basketball.  This year we had not one, but two athletes reach this accomplishment. Raegan Decker, a senior member of our Milton/BFA Fairfax Girls Varsity Lacrosse cooperative team, and Bryce Fontaine, a senior member of our BFA Fairfax Boys Lacrosse team, became the first athletes in school history to surpass the 100-goal milestone.

Finally, we are proud to recognize BFA Fairfax’s newest state championship team!  The boys' 4x100 meter track and field team of Shaun Gibson, Charlie Czapski, Burton Brown, and Jacob Matthias are the newest Division 3 state champions!

Congratulations to all, and thank you for being role models and an inspiration to the next generation of BFA Fairfax student-athletes! We look forward to seeing your accomplishments hanging on the gymnasium walls for decades to come.
