The Fairfax School Budget Revote (FY26) will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the Fairfax Town Offices. Polls will be open 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Residents are encouraged to join the Board and BFA administration on Wednesday, April 2nd in the Elementary Gym (6 PM) for an informational meeting and school budget presentation ahead of the revote. This morning, Ms. Chaplin and Mr. Karp’s classes led us in a fantastic All School Morning meeting that celebrated International Women’s Day. Our students shared about important and influential women who have made significant impacts on the world.


Today our Grade 3/4 Drama Club performed Toy Store for a packed house of students, families, and staff. The cast did an amazing job and we are incredibly proud of all of them. A big thank you to Mrs. Kalbfleisch, Mrs. Bates, and Mrs. Garrett for all their work making this play happen for our students!



This morning the Grade 1 Team participated in the 2nd Annual Penguin Olympics to culminate their learning and hard work during the penguin unit. It was a ton of fun!

BFA Fairfax Kindergarten Registration 2025-26
February 19 - March 21, 2025
Your child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2025 to attend Kindergarten in the fall of 2025. Parents can request enrollment packets by contacting Rhonda Masse at 802-849-0723, or by emailing rmasse@fwsu.org. If your child is currently enrolled in the PreK program at BFA, you do not need to request a packet. You will receive several forms to update information. Those documents will be sent home with your child at the beginning of the registration period.
Enrollment packets should be completed and returned by March 21, 2025. For new enrollments - A copy of your child’s birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of residency must be included with your completed enrollment packet. Students cannot be enrolled until all of the required documents are on file with the school.
All other Kindergarten information (Handbooks, Screening Dates, Information Night) will be shared at a later date. Thank you!
All FWSU schools will be on a two hour delay Monday February 17. This will allow our road crews to assess road conditions and catch up. We will advise if conditions change by 7:30 tomorrow morning.
Mrs. Villeneuve's Public Speaking class participated in the Rotary Club's speech contest.
This year's speech topic was "How to Increase respect, tolerance & understanding of one another."
Our very own Aydin Naylor is the Franklin Grand Isle chapter runner-up!

The BFA Music Department is extremely proud to announce that sophomore Bradyn Savery has been accepted into this year's Vermont Music Educators Association All State Music Festival! He is one of about twelve trombone players in the state of Vermont selected after a rigorous audition process; this year's festival will take place from May 8-11, with a performance open to the public on the final day at Essex High School. Congratulations, Bradyn!

Due to an unexpected facilities issue, we are unable to host the boys basketball games this evening. Makeup TBD.
Practices in the middle school and elementary school gyms may proceed as scheduled.
