Students in foundations of science designed and implemented their own inquiry labs, exploring factors that influence wind energy. Designing your own experiment challenges the mind and forces you to analyze every aspect of the scientific process.

Students in the Introduction to Forces and Motion course participated in an Egg Drop Challenge. Their task was to create a contraption that would both slow the descent and cushion the impact of an egg dropped from a height of 3 meters. Those that survived the fall continued to 4 meters and 5 meters. The ultimate winners were Gavyn Roussin and Tessa Couture.

Costume Relay's continued

" Lions, Tigers, and Cross Country Runners... Oh my!"
The "Fairfax cross country relay" is our annual, fun, and costume-themed relay race, hosted by the BFA Cross Country teams. It is a great team-building competition for athletes leading up to championship races. Prizes are awarded for both speed and the best costumes. A fun time was had by all!

The grade three team led us through a fantastic All-School Morning meeting today. They reminded us all of the importance of finding ways to be kind at school and in our community.

BFA Fairfax/ LU had a successful homecoming game with a victory over Rice High School, all while raising funds for the UVM Cancer Center in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. GO FAIRFAX!

We had a wonderful time welcoming our newest members of our elementary school at our All School Morning Meeting on Friday morning. A big thank you to our families, students, staff, and 4th Grade Buddies for making this annual event so memorable.

Hiram Bellows Day of Service 2025
Our day in high school yesterday opened with a short lesson about Hiram Bellows and his gift to the school. Students formed service groups and gave back to the community in various ways.
After the service projects, students returned to school, where they reflected, shared, and celebrated their work.
The service projects are meant as a way to connect students to the community and honor the legacy of Bellows. We are glad for our partnerships with Fairfax Parks and Recreation, as well as Fairfax Rescue and Fire.

This afternoon at 4:30 PM, we sent a test message to all families via phone, email, and text. If you did not receive a message in at least one of these formats, please contact your school.
We had a fun and engaging All-School Morning Meeting yesterday. Ms. Varisano, Ms. Lynch, and Mrs. Norris led us in a kick-off to the school year and a review of our PBIS School-wide agreements.
