BFA Fairfax 11th grader Parker Haddock is being recognized for his talent and creativity after his original poem earned 3rd place in the Vermont Student Art and Poetry Contest in honor of America's 250th!
Last spring, Parker wrote and submitted his poem for the statewide contest. On Thursday, he traveled to Middlebury to read his poem during the Constitution Day celebration and receive his award. 📖👏

We have had tremendous participation numbers at our open gyms! We truly appreciate the enthusiasm and interest from our players.
One of our goals with open gyms is to make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate and get on the court. With the number of players attending, that has been difficult to accomplish at times.
After talking with the players, we agreed that we will separate our Middle School and High School players into two different open gyms. We have also received requests to include 6th grade players, and we are happy to accommodate this by having 6th graders join the Middle School open gym.
We believe this change will give everyone more opportunities to participate, get quality time on the court, and continue developing their skills.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost and the families and communities forever changed by September 11, 2001.
We honor the courage, bravery, and selflessness of the first responders and the countless individuals who came together to help others during one of our nation’s darkest days.
May we continue to remember, reflect, and carry forward the spirit of compassion, unity, and kindness in our own communities.

Gage Magnuson leads UMass Lowell in hometown contest
BFA-Fairfax graduate Gage Magnuson, Class of 2026, wowed the hometown crowd on Saturday, Sept. 5, running in his first collegiate race in his hometown for the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Magnuson clocked a 20:49 in the four-mile race, finishing 6th overall and first for Division 1 UMass Lowell.
Magnuson was a highly decorated high school runner for BFA-Fairfax, competing and running for state titles while racing with the Bullets.
Saturday's race, held at Hard'ack and hosted by the University of Vermont, was the first race the college freshman has run in his home county.
